1. Introduction
AmplifiU.com, an AI-powered education platform, recognises the transformative potential of artificial intelligence (AI) in education and its ethical implications. Our vision is to infuse both human and artificial intelligence in a collaborative, ethical and responsible manner to provide easy access to high-quality educational resources. We are building a set of tools for educators to help them in their daily work, leveraging AI as a collaborator to improve their efficiency and quality of teaching to enhance learning outcomes for the students.
The promising solutions proposed by AI are evolving, need control mechanisms to address concerns of bias, inaccuracies, ethics, and responsibility. The solution needs a true-collaborator approach, a relationship of co-creation that respects what AI bring to the table and amplify teachers’ capabilities while keeping them in complete control.
This document outlines our commitment to the responsible use of AI across all out applications, supporting the enhancement of education while maintaining strict and fair practices in alignment with the Australian Framework for Generative Artificial Intelligence in Schools.
This is a working document that is expected to evolve and mature over time.
2. Purpose
This document seeks to harness AI’s potential to augment education, not replace human educators. We aim to ensure responsible and ethical use of AI that aligns with legal compliance and promotes the best interest of all stakeholders.
3. Principles
The Australian Framework for Generative Artificial Intelligence in Schools is designed to support educational outcomes, ethical practices, and equity and inclusion. The framework outlines a set of guiding statements categorised under 6 core principles. AmplifiU aims to align with the framework appropriately.
3.1 Teaching and Learning
AmplifiU is designed to empower teachers and educators by providing them complete control over the instructions provided to the system and the output generated by the platform.
Our system generates educational content in close collaboration with educators being the expert in-charge of the conversation. Users retain the ability to manage, modify, or delete the generated output as and when they want.
3.2 Human and Social Wellbeing
AmplifiU is committed to ensure wellbeing and safety of the users and the school community on our platform. Human-centered design approach is adopted to co-design the platform with users from various sections.
Our purpose is to amplify human capabilities and offer valuable support in designing high-quality education content while respecting human dignity and keeping teachers in-charge of the decision making at each step.
3.3 Transparency
AmplifiU is committed to providing clear and understandable explanations of how our AI systems operate.
Appropriately disclose when the information is generated by AI technology and its potential for inaccuracies and biases. Also guiding users to review and accept the generated output before using that in their classrooms.
3.4 Fairness
Teachers from various sections of the communities and regions are consulted in designing AmplifiU platform. Their feedback is considered and incorporated appropriately to make the system inclusive, equitable and accessible.
Respecting cultural rights of various communities and their intellectual properties, AmplifiU does not claim any intellectual property rights over the content uploaded by the schools and the users on the platform. Clients and users retain complete ownership of the content and any intellectual property rights associated with it. Users retain the ability to manage, modify, or delete the generated output to attribute IP rights.
3.5 Accountability
AmplifiU acknowledge human agency and control. Our AI technology is deployed as a collaborative assistant, dedicated to facilitating specific tasks and enhancing user experiences. It does not intend to replace human decision-making or autonomy. The school leaders and teachers remain accountable for decisions that are supported using generative AI.
AmplifiU ensures a reliable education technology system in accordance with its intended purpose by deploying quality testing and control practices.
Continuous discussion and feedback from users are facilitated to ensure active monitoring of opportunities and emerging risks on ongoing basis.
3.6 Privacy, Security and Safety
Respecting user privacy, AmplifiU only collect and process data necessary for its intended purpose while adhering to Australian law. We commit to offering users the right to access, correct, and delete their personal data, strengthening our commitment to privacy.
AmplifiU is committed to inform users and school about what data will be collected, used, and shared while using the platform. We are committed to not sale user, school, or any student data to any third-party for further use.
Maintaining stringent cyber-security measures, we protect the integrity and availability of school information and user data privacy from unauthorised access or breaches. We commit to promptly notify individuals and relevant data authorities of any data breaches that pose a risk to their rights and freedoms, thereby ensuring integrity and confidentiality.
AmplifiU affirms that client (teachers, school, student) data will never be used for training large language models (LLM) or any other artificial intelligence models that are not directly related to client’s own specific use case or requirements. We are committed to ensuring that client data is not repurposed for broader AI research or development.
